Because of sin, there is a deep separation between humanity and God—one that no human effort could ever bridge. But in His great love, God provided the answer through Jesus. As the one and only mediator, Jesus stands between us and the Father, making a way for reconciliation through His sacrifice. He didn’t just bring peace—He is our peace. Through Him, we are no longer distant or separated, but welcomed into relationship with God. Even now, Jesus continues to intercede for us, advocating on our behalf. This powerful truth reminds us that we are never alone—we are continually covered, represented, and loved by the One who gave Himself as a ransom for us.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. - 1 Timothy 2:12-17

The dictionary defines a mediator as one who settles a dispute or brings about an agreement or truce between parties. Because of the huge separation between man and God due to sin, which every person has, there needed to be a way to build a bridge between God and us. Jesus is that bridge. He is the one that reconciles us back to God by our belief in Him. He also now sits at the right hand of God and intercedes for us (Romans 8:34).
How does knowing that Jesus is continually interceding for you change the way you approach God today?
Prayer: Thank You, precious Jesus, that You are the great Mediator between us and our majestic God! We thank You that You are love incarnate. You who had everything, and all things were made through You, chose to come to earth to pay our ransom so that we could be made right to stand before our Holy God. We thank You that You continue to intercede for us as we walk along our journey on earth. We ask that we would understand this reality for what it is so that we would both be thankful and empowered. We ask this in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
