Day 1 - 40 days in the word

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ -Matthew 4:4. 

Just like we need food to nourish our bodies and to fortify us, we need our Lord Jesus (the Word) to nourish, sustain and fortify our souls.  It is imperative, as Christians, that we learn God's Word and that we feed on it daily. It is our sustenance, our protection, our life.

Prayer:  Father, we thank You for Your Son, we thank You for your Word.  Helps us to grow deeper in our relationship with You by feeding more and more on Your Holy Word and walking ever closer with You.  In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
