Day 25 - 40 Days in The Word: Morning is Coming

We all experience nights—seasons of grief, uncertainty, and pain. In those moments, it can feel like the darkness will never lift. But God reminds us: night is temporary.

The same God who lifts us from the depths promises that joy is coming. Morning is not a possibility—it is a promise.

I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.  LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.  Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.  For his anger lasts only a moment,  but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning – Psalm 30:1-5

When we call to God for help, He always answers. We may not always understand how He works—because He sees what we cannot—but we can trust that He is working for our good, both now and for eternity. When we cry out to Him to save us, He offers a salvation that not only rescues us from the pit but gives us hope and joy. From ancient Israel to today, God has shown Himself to be both just and merciful. His anger is real, but it is brief; His favor, shown fully through His Son, lasts forever. There may be seasons of weeping in this life, but they are not the end of the story. Joy is coming.

Can you recall a time when God brought ‘morning’ after a difficult season? How does that shape your trust in Him today?

Prayer:  Lord, we do praise You; we praise Your Holy name! We thank You that we can call to You in our pain and sickness and You do heal us.  You offer us hope now and you work in amazing ways in our lives, but You are ultimately working for us for our place forever with You in eternity.  Thank You for the favor You bestow on us! We ask that You keep us mindful of this greater work that You are doing in us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
