It’s easy to search everywhere for answers—advice, strategies, and understanding about how to live well and make wise choices. Yet Scripture reminds us that the deepest wisdom and knowledge we need are not found in a system or method, but in a person: Christ. When we are connected to Him, we are not left to figure life out on our own. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit living within us, God gives us guidance, encouragement, and the understanding we need for both today and eternity.
My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.– Colossians 2:2-3

In Christ is really everything we need. He holds all the wisdom and knowledge we need for both this life and the eternal life to come. The truth is that we really can’t think the thoughts we need to think, act in the way we need to act or really do anything that is pleasing to Him apart from Him. However, with Him, we can do the impossible. Sometimes the impossible is just managing our own internal battles. However, because we have the Holy Spirit within us, we have the mind of Christ, who can instruct us and guide us in all things. (For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2: 16.)
Where in your life are you currently trying to figure things out on your own instead of seeking Christ’s wisdom and guidance first?
Prayer: Wow, we are so thankful, Lord, to You who have given us all things in your Son, Jesus! Triune, majestic, amazing God, how can it be that You not only offer us salvation and the most amazing eternity planned for us, but You also give us Your powerful, beautiful Spirit to live inside of us so that we would be connected to You! Through Your Holy Spirit, we are guided, comforted, and spoken to by You. We ask, Lord, that You would help us so that we won’t grieve the Holy Spirit, with Whom we are sealed for the day of redemption, and that You would forgive us when we’ve chosen the worldly way over Your way. Help us to remember the real power we have within by being Your child. We ask this in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
